It’s hilarious.  It’s also a warm and wonderful story by Joe DiPietro (“I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change”) about family and love set in an Italian household.  Nick is a single guy from New Jersey.  His parents retired to Florida.  That doesn’t mean his family isn’t still in Jersey.  In fact he sees both sets of grandparents every Sunday for dinner.  Today he’s got to tell them about the promotion to his “dream job” – in Seattle!  How could he betray his grandparents love?

CRABGRASS PUPPET THEATRE TO PRESENT

THE FROG PRINCE PLUS THE PRINCESS AND THE PEA

FourQuest Entertainment is proud to welcome the return of the Crabgrass Puppet Theater with their presentation of The Frog Prince plus The Princess and the Pea on Friday, August 8, 2003.  The production is part of Theatre-By-The-Sea’s 2003 Children’s Festival sponsored by Cardi’s Furniture.

You can't judge a princess by her clothes – or a prince by his warts!  Things are seldom what they appear in these fabulously funny retellings of two classic fairy tales, which are brought to life with zany and colorful one-half life-sized puppets, fantastical scenery, and a wacky musical score.

The Frog Prince plus The Princess and the Pea is created and performed by the award-winning Crabgrass Puppet Theatre. Bonny Hall, Jamie Keithline and David Regan are all graduates of the University of Connecticut's esteemed programs in puppetry and theatre.  Since 1982, the Crabgrass Puppet Theatre has brought high-quality children's and family entertainment to audiences across the country.

Cedric the Seahorse will be on hand to help introduce children to the magic of live theatre.  After the show, meet Cedric, live and in person, then picnic on the lawn or have cold drinks, pizza and cookies at the gazebo.  Or . . . take a nature walk on Rhode Island’s most beautiful beach.

THE HUDSON VAGABOND PUPPETS PRESENT

BEATRIX POTTER STORIES

FourQuest Entertainment is proud to welcome back the Hudson Vagabond Puppets with their presentation of two classic Beatrix Potter stories – The Tale of Jemima Puddle-Duck and The Story of A Fierce Bad Rabbit on Friday, August 15, 2003.  The production is part of Theatre-By-The-Sea’s 2003 Children’s Festival, sponsored by Cardi’s Furniture.

Giant puppets dance and act in narrated ballets to these two beloved Beatrix Potter stories with music by William Walton.  The Tale of Jemima Puddle-Duck is about an absent-minded duck, who takes flight on a fine spring day in search of a place to lay her eggs.  She is very much impressed with a mysterious, handsome, foxy-whiskered stranger who convinces her to lay her eggs in his shed.  An honest collie and two rowdy foxhound puppies save the day.  In The Story of A Fierce Bad Rabbit, the audience gets involved with a chorus of cheers and boos as the Fierce Bad Rabbit and the Nice Gentle Rabbit argue over the ownership of a carrot.

Incorporated in 1980, the Hudson Vagabond Puppets, create programs designed to entertain children and their families.  The performers are professional dancers and actors.  Clad in black, the puppeteers borrow from the traditional Japanese Bunraku style of puppetry, becoming mere shadows of the larger-than-life figures they bring to life.  The Hudson Vagabond Puppets use several different methods to create and operate the characters of the story, which are all played by giant puppets.
